Mittens and Ear Warmers March 20, 2009

Filed under: Fiber Working,Knitting Projects — knitbee @ 12:00 am

This is a project that I did from a book that my neighbor gave me. The pattern came from “Teach yourself to knit the easy Columbia Minerva Way” book that was published around 1968. I cannot find any copyright information on it so I might scan it in later if anybody is interested.

The purple mittens and hat are made using a garter stitch border and a stockinette stitch body.

I am pretty happy with the way that it turned out. I chose to add a string to hold the mittens together like you do for a small child because I doubt that my sister will be able to find both of them otherwise. Not only that then they are always in your coat and ready to go.

A special thanks to pooh bear for modeling.
